As a mother, farmer, educator, herbalist and wellness advocate, I have dedicated my life to understanding how our food and connection to the land directly impact our health. Through my experience with clients and my own personal journey, I’ve come to recognize the power of nutrient-dense food, herbs and mindfulness in restoring balance and vitality.
Our Story
How is our food grown and how does that impact our health?
Over 20 years ago, I began my path as a wellness consultant, working with clients on nutrition, fitness and overall well-being. I quickly realized that many of my clients were dealing with underlying nutrient deficiencies, even when they were trying to eat healthily. I was uncomfortable with the idea of relying solely on supplements to fix these issues and I began exploring a deeper question: How is our food grown, and how does that impact our health?
How our food was being produced?
This inquiry led me to a profound discovery—the problem wasn’t just in what we were eating but how our food was being produced. Conventional agricultural practices were depleting the soil of nutrients, which in turn was leading to nutrient depleted food and weaker gut health. Inspired to find a better way, I bought a farm and committed myself to regenerative, organic farming practices. My mission became to grow the most nutrient-dense food possible, healing both the land and our bodies.
At the same time, I founded a farm school, addressing the gap in education around food sources and the importance of connecting children to nature. By teaching kids where food comes from, how it's grown, and why it matters, I saw the potential to shape healthier futures.
Herbal Medicine
During this time, I also reconnected with the power of herbal medicine. I went back to school to study herbalism and this became another transformative layer of my practice. Herbs are not only powerful healing tools but they also offer extreme nutrition. Plants like nettles, calendula, and oatstraw became integral in supporting my client's wellness, especially for gut health. I now blend the wisdom of herbal medicine with nutrition and farming practices to help others on their wellness journey.
